2023劳伦斯世界体育奖颁奖典礼在法国巴黎举行。我国自由式滑雪运动员谷爱凌荣获劳伦斯年度最佳极限运动员奖。劳伦斯世界体育奖是全球体坛最具影响力的大奖之一。这是谷爱凌第一次获得劳伦斯奖，同时也是中国冰雪运动员首次获此殊荣。此前，共有四位中国运动员获得劳伦斯奖。

Thank you so much for having me tonight.
非常感谢今晚对我的邀请。
Thank you so much, Laureus.
非常感谢劳伦斯奖。
But really what I wanted to say is how much this award really means to me.
但我真正想说的是这个奖项对我的意义。
I think, as every athlete in this room knows, this is so much more than just a beautifully crafted piece of metal.
我想，在座的每一位运动员都知道，这不仅仅是一座制作精美的奖杯。
It is a symbol of all the hard work and all the beauty and all the tears and the pain, but also of the joy that goes into everything that sports are.
它包含了所有的努力、美好、泪水和痛苦，也包含着体育运动带来的一切快乐。
Sports are a symbol of the human experience.
体育代表了一系列人生体验。
First, there"s curiosity.
首先，是好奇心。
Then, maybe there"s a spark of passion.
然后，也许会有一丝激情。
There"s love.
有热爱。
There"s heartbreak.
有心碎。
Fear.
有害怕。
Failure.
有失败。
And at the very end, there"s joy like nothing else you"ve ever experienced.
最后，还有你从未体验过的快乐。
That"s what the Olympics were to me.
那就是奥运会对我而言的意义。
But it"s also been my experience with all the other sports I"ve tried.
也是我尝试过的其他运动带来的体验。
I ran cross-country growing up.
我从小就进行越野赛跑。
I ran track.
跑田径。
I dabbled in basketball, soccer.
打篮球、踢足球。
And through all of those sports, there were things that I learned that I will carry with me forever.
从这些运动中学到的东西将伴我一生。
And that"s why organizations like Laureus are so important.
这就是为什么像劳伦斯这样的奖项如此重要。
As one of the founders of Laureus, Nelson Mandela, once said, sports have the power to unite people.
正如劳伦斯奖的创始人之一纳尔逊·曼德拉曾经说过的那样，体育具有团结人们的力量。
That"s what the world needs more of these days.
这正是当今世界所需要的。
When you"re young and you participate in sports, you have the power to experience what it is to be human, not what it is to be divided by race, age, gender, sexuality, but to be human.
当你年轻的时候，你参加体育运动，你有能力去体验身而为人的滋味，而不是按种族、年龄、性别、性取向去划分，只是作为一个人。
You learn about different experiences.
你会体验到不同的经历。
You learn about the world.
你了解这个世界。
You make friends.
广交朋友。
You make each other better.
你们共同进步。
And that"s what"s so beautiful about it.
这就是体育的美妙之处。
As you get older, as you compete, you never lose that.
随着年龄的增长，随着比赛的进行，你也永远不会失去这些体验。
At the Olympics, it"s a world stage where people from different sports, different countries, all come together and celebrate what it is to be human.
在奥运会上，这是一个世界舞台，来自不同运动项目、不同的国家的人，都聚集在一起庆祝作为人的意义。
Today, I want to dedicate this award to all the young people out there, because someone has to lead change in this world.
今天，我想把这个奖献给所有的年轻人，因为总得有人引领这个世界的变革。
Why not us?
为什么不是我们呢？
I want to remind people that we are beautiful because of our differences, not despite them, and that sport is a very unique avenue for people to connect, to learn about one another, to build up society, break human limits, and develop as a whole.
我想提醒人们，正是因为我们的不同，我们才美丽，而体育是使人们联系的非常独特的途径，互相了解，共同建设社会，突破人的极限，实现整体发展。
So thank you so much for this award.
